The Religious Education Board serves as an advisory body to the catechetical leader. It is commissioned by the parish community to oversee the catechitical ministry at Our Lady of Mercy parish. Among the responsibilities assumed by this Board are:
* To ensure that the catechetical ministry is in conformity with all diocesan mandates and the guidelines of the Church.
* To listen to the concerns of participants, families, catechists and the parish at large and respond as appropriate.
* To evaluate the many aspects of the catechetical ministry at Our Lady of Mercy parish in light of ever-changing parish needs.
* To advise the catechetical leader as to needed areas of growth in the catechetical ministry.
* To assist that pastor, catechetical leader, volunteer catechists and the parish community in fulfilling our mandate to share the Good News and challenge growth in Christian discipleship among all parish members.
