Children in the First Reconciliation preparation class and younger are invited to share in a special Liturgy of the Word for children. These chlidren will be formally dismissed from the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass by the celebrant. Trained ministers of the Word will lead these children in prayer and reflection on the Sunday Scripture readings. The Scripture will be proclaimed from an approved Children's Lectionary.
When formal religious education classes are in session, children in kindergarten through First Reconciliation will move directly from the Children's Liturgy of the Word to their formal classes. When class is not in session, these children will return to their parents after the homily.
